MP-Web Compliance Threshold Rules basic setup
Compliance Rules are subsets of your Compliance and allow users to set individual compliance against the Objects you have chosen in the previous tabs.
Add Compliance Rule
Clicking Add will navigate you to the Add Compliance Rule window.
From this window, you will need to enter the Name and set the relevant Level Type. You can choose an existing Level Type from the dropdown menu or create a new one by clicking the Add button.
Once these details have been entered you have a few options.
- For compliance situations where compliance varies from location to location then choose the Fixed Grid option and click Save.
- For compliance situations where compliance is consistent for many locations choose the Fixed List option and click Save.
- With either mode to further add more advanced compliance options, click Advanced, which will take you to the configuration of these options (including conditionality, reference to calculations etc).
Tip
A Compliance Grid is used for absolute limits of a set value either an upper (the value cannot be above this limit) or lower (the value cannot be below this limit).
Compliance List
The Compliance List is the same concept as the older Compliance Suites in MP-Desktop. Any Compliance Suites setup in MP-Desktop will be available in MP-Web as Compliance Lists.
Users will be presented with a list of Variables and a column for Upper and Lower limits to be set. Populate the list as required. Changes will be saved inline, there is no need to separately save the page. The compliance configured here will apply to all the Locations in the parent Compliance or filtered using the Advanced options for that Compliance Rule.
Tip
Compliance Rules can be toggled between Lists and Grids. This can be useful if minor amendments need to be made and can save time manually updating very similar compliance. Click on Edit from the Compliance Rules and then toggle the option to Grid.
Compliance Grid
The Compliance Grid will indicate the Locations and Variables where compliance can be populated. There are options to include both Upper and Lower limits. Changes will be saved inline, there is no need to separately save the page.
Import & export
To make mass updates easier, users have the option to Export out the Grid, make amendments in Excel and then Import.
Caution
Please be aware that users cannot add new Variables or Sample Points in Excel. These changes first need to be made to the Compliance Grid and then exported.
Editing a Compliance Rule
Managing a Grid or List
The Manage Grid/List provides a quick and direct link to the Compliance Grid/List for viewing and editing. This button is available on Threshold Rules which have been set up using a grid only,
i.e. not utilising the advanced compliance functions.
Clicking the Edit button will open the introductory Edit Compliance Rule window where you can either click Manage Grid/List or click Advanced to go to the main edit Compliance Rule window.
Copy Compliance Rule
This will copy the details of an existing Compliance Rule and copy them over to a new Rule, which can save time. This is particularly useful where updates need to be made. For example Rule 1 is applicable for data until a fixed end date. The copy, Rule 2 applies from a follow on date. The copy will allow an end date to be included for this purpose when making the new Rule from the exisiting. Users can then make the required changes to the new Rule.
Delete Compliance Rule
Deletes the selected Compliance Rule, this option will ask you if you are sure about deleting the threshold.
