Adding Widgets (Photos)

Adding Photo Widgets to a Dashboard

Introduction

The Photo Widgets enable users to add photos within MonitorPro for display on a Dashboard. These can be any Photos which are contained within the Document Manager, either images uploaded by MP-Field, imported via an Auto Importer, or manually uploaded and associated with an Object or via the Document Manager. These images can be static or dynamic (changing based on set rules).

Adding Photo Widgets

On the applicable Dashboard, click on the Add a Widget button, and from the drop-down list, choose the Photo option.

This will give you an unconfigured Widget to now set up. Click on the Configure Widget button to complete the required setup.

Global Images

Global Images are static images stored in the Gateway Database. If you have uploaded a company-specific logo, for example, it will be available here. Select these to display a company logo on your Dashboard, for instance, as the title.

Database Images

These are going to be database-specific (where clients have multiple databases), so where you have the option, first choose the applicable database where the photo is referenced/stored.

Object

Unlinked

Unlinked images can also be selected; however, it is recommended that images being displayed are associated with an Object, particularly when wanting them to be dynamic. When choosing unlinked, you'll be provided with a fixed list of image names which don't currently have a reference to an Object within MonitorPro.

Next, users can choose what object the photo is associated with from the available list.

Sample Point

When selecting a Sample Point, the user will be presented with a list of Sample Points which have images linked to them. If the Sample Point you want isn't listed, you can check the Document Manager or the Sample Point properties tab to make sure the image(s) are correctly associated.

Once the Sample Point is chosen, there are set options as to what image you want to add.

Users can select a fixed image, for example, a picture of the sampling location when it was installed. Alternatively, users can choose one of the dynamic options, such as Most Recent, Second Most Recent, Third Most Recent, or Oldest.

Once configured, a thumbnail of the chosen image will be shown. If correct, click Save, and the configuration is complete.

Tip

If you take several images, for example, as part of inspection monitoring, or it's routine to take multiple pictures of the location every time it's sampled. It can be necessary to configure various Widgets. One showing the Most Recent, one showing the Second and one showing the Third. Multiple dynamic images can be shown this way, but only a single image can be displayed per Widget

Site/Aspect/Data Type

When selecting a Site, the user will be presented with a list of Sites that have images linked to them. If the required Site isn't listed, you can check the Document Manager or the Site properties tab to make sure the image(s) are correctly associated.

Once the Site is chosen, there are set options as to what image you want to add.
