MP-Web Object Tables
How to access data via Object-related tables
Introduction
Data access in MonitorPro can be achieved via the concept of Datasets. A user creates a Dataset or uses an existing one to quickly find the data they need for further reporting, analysis, or export. This process is still the most effective way to locate data within the system and allocate it to relevant users by sharing these Datasets. That said, some data access requirements fall outside the concept of Datasets, such as accessing the data associated with a Monitoring Visit or a Batch of data contained within an imported file or a Calculator run.
Note
As there is limited ability to restrict access to data via these tables, access to the functionality is limited to users in the Roles of Manager or Administrator, except for the Import Log.
The table icon indicates where data can be accessed directly. The example below is related to a specific Sample Point. The icon is also present in other application areas, such as imported files (from the Import Log), calculated data (from the Calculator Log), and Visits. The general interaction is consistent through the application with context-specific table variations where applicable. The ability to interact with them is also consistent with the Data Analysis Table Builder.
Access is restricted to the Administrator or Manager Role to ensure integrity. Non-Admin or Managers would continue to access data assigned to them via Datasets.

Sample Points
The Sample Point Object Tables can be accessed from the Object Management area. A table icon will appear next to each Sample Point, which will take the user to a table of data for that Sample Point. This table is unrestricted by Date, Source, Variable, etc. The tables can also be accessed directly from the Sample Point properties, such as via search.
Table Hierarchy
The first table will be a summary, the Base Summary Table. It will largely depend on the volume of data for the Sample Point in question, but to jump directly to a complete list of data, the Base List Table can be selected from the drop-down list.

Using the view button at the end of each row is likely more productive for larger data sets, as it allows you to drill more selectively into the data. The Sample Point summary will be primarily grouped by Variable.
This will take the user to a secondary summary based primarily on the data's date range. The makeup of the data will dictate what MonitorPro displays. Data spread over a range of years will be grouped by year, while more discreet data over months or weeks will be displayed.

Users can choose an alternative summary option from the one presented as needed.

Equally, the Base List Table can be selected from the drop-down list to jump directly to a complete list of data (for the chosen Variable). Clicking on the view will show a Basic List Table for that date period. In the example below, for 2025.

The final level of analysis is to view the individual data point properties via the Edit.

Customising the tables
The tables can be customised to suit the user's requirements. This covers including or excluding specific columns and the order of the columns and data rows. The process for this is the same as that detailed in Table Builder.
The one exception is the ability to select the drill-down table. This option is in the Base Summary Table and includes any saved copies from this base type. It enables users to create customised summary tables and control the customised drill-down from that table. An intermediate summary table may still be presented depending on the data spread.

Exports
In the same way, tables can be created for exporting data from the Dataset Table Builder, the same functionality applies to the Object tables.
Variables
Variable table access works very similarly to Sample Points. However, the summary base table is first grouped by Sample Point and then by Date.
Import Log
The data associated with a batch or file import can be obtained similarly from the Import Log summary dialogue.

Select the table icon, and the contents of the data for that file will be displayed.

The edit will display the data point's properties. Managers and Administrators can update the data point fields.

Calculator Log
The batch properties can be accessed from the Calculator Log. The table icon is present in the batch dialogue, allowing access to the underlying data associated with that specific calculator run.

The table type is the Base List Table.

Monitoring Visits
The Monitoring Visits Table is designed to detail the data associated with a specific Visit. Highlighting any missing records in Amber and missing samples in Red. It can be used to check what analysis or samples might be missing, similar to the various Status type reports. The benefits of these tables are the option to drill into the data and make corrections as needed.
