MP-Desktop Calculation Groups (Calc Groups)
How to use Calc Groups in MP-Desktop
Introduction
Calculation Groups (Calc Groups) are a means of aggregating data together in a single step. A typical example would be aggregating together the volume or pump rates from a group of wells or bore field. Users could use the Aggregate Calculator, however to aggregate each location individually and then combine those can be time consuming. With Calc Groups this can be done in a single step.
General
Provide a Long Name and Short Name for the Calculation Group, which logically defines its contents, for example, Area A Bore field. Then set a Result Location. This needs to be a distinct Sample Point in MonitorPro for the data to be stored against. If one doesn't exist use the '...' to create a suitable Sample Point.
Sample Point
Here choose the Sample Points which make up this Group. Move them from the left (unselected) to the right (selected) as required. Users can equally choose the Sample Points using a Sample Point Group. This has the benefit of being able to dynamically update the Calculation Group dynamically with changes to the Sample Point Group later on, as required.
Save the Calculation Group.
Note
At this stage the Calc Group will not have any active effect until it is referenced in an Aggregate or other Calculation.
