What are the System Requirements

Server / Client Hardware Requirements

Core Requirements

EHS Data follow a general policy to support server and client Operating Systems (OS) which are maintained by Microsoft under its extended support. To this end, EHS Data do not support the use of MonitorPro on any OS hosting MonitorPro, which is not in extended support (has reached its respective end of life). The current status can be found here.

MP-Web and MP-Field

MP-Web and MP-Field supportability is associated with the browser, however, continued browser support by the vendor (Google, Apple, etc.) is generally associated with the underlying OS. If the OS is no longer supported then the browser will likely also stop being updated with patches. We, therefore, follow the same core requirements policy and will not support browsers that are not currently being updated or not being updated due to the underlying OS being past their respective end of life. More details can be found here.

MP-Desktop

The MonitorPro Desktop client is a traditional software application which can be installed on machines running a Windows operating system. It can be installed directly onto a users machine or served up via applications such as Citrix or Windows/Azure Virtual Desktop. It's minimum requires are as follows;

  • Windows 10 or newer
  • 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 810MB free disk space
  • Screen resolution 1024x768 or greater

Architecture - Hardware and Software (Small System)

For a single relatively small database (less than a million records) and a few users, a server broadly along these lines should work well.  This is a recommended specification. MonitorPro will run acceptably on slower hardware.

•Dual Core 2.5-3 GHz or better

•8-16GB RAM

•500GB HDD/SSD

Hardware and Software (Larger Systems)

Typically, as more users are added, RAM and the number of processor cores should be increased.

As more databases are added, or records within each database, more RAM and HDD capacity are recommended.  We recommend the use of a RAID array if possible (RAID5 preferred)

For a system with millions of records each in a dozen or more databases and a couple of dozen users, you might want a server more like.

•Eight Core 3-3.5GHz (2 sockets at quad-core recommended above hyper-threading)

•16-32GB RAM

•4 x 1TB HDD/SSD in RAID 1+0 (2TB space). This configuration will give you fast read speeds, but also give you fast write speeds. It will also provide redundancy, protecting you against data loss in the event of a drive failure.

Typical Server Architecture

Below is a typical architecture of a MonitorPro environment with EHS Data hosting.
